Arizona Republic, Phoenix Tuesday, March 16, 2004 John Raymond McKelvey, born 12-23-1917 in Chicago, IL entered into rest 03-12-2004. He moved to Arizona shortly after his discharge from the U.S. Army where he served in WWII in the South Pacific. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and J C Penney where he retired. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and a longtime member of the choir. John loved Irish songs and could always be called upon to sing his favorite, "Danny Boy." John was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Marjorie McKelvey and niece, Sherri Jackson plus other family members. Private family funeral arrangements are pending through Camelback Sunset Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association. |
