| Arizona State Miner, Wickenburg Saturday, April 18, 1925 p8 c2 Mrs Elizabeth Wood, pioneer resident of Phoenix, died at her home at 202 South Seventh avenue Tuesday night. Mrs Woods was 88 years old at the time of her death and had resided in Arizona for the past 3[?] years. She was born in England, coming to America while still a young woman. She is survived by one son and one daughter. The son is a railroad man and ran for City Mayor recently, losing out by 16 votes. He never lost a shift during his campaign and many openly claim he was rightfully elected, but was counted out by "machine politics" in counting of the ballots. Funeral obsequies were from the family home today at 2pm. |
