Lee Earl Dean

Posted 2008-01-08 by Edward Peed
Lee Dean, 72 of Hayden, a retired Southern Pacific yard foreman, was injured when struck down by a left-turning car last night at N. Stone avenue and W. Alameda street.

Dean was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of left leg fractures and head and chest injuries. He was not thought to be critical at the time.

City police were not notified of the death until yesterday.

Dressed in dark clothing, Dean was walking south in a pedestrian crosswalk when a northbound car driven by Joe Culver Driscoll, 36, of 832 S. Catalina Blvd. turned left and struck him.

The driver estimated his speed at 10 miles an hour. He was cited by police for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.

Dean lived in Tucson three weeks, at 25 W. Simpson St.

An Arizona resident 32 years, Dean leaves a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Dean Brown, San Manuel; two sisters, Mrs Bessie Higgenbothon, McFarland, Calif., and an inidentified sister, and a brother, Edmond Dean, a California resident.

Funeral services are being handled by Reilly's Morturary.
Wrote on the paper clipping 9:25 PM I would guess it is the time
of injury.
