On November 30, 2003, Floyd Edward Wilson, 75, escaped his earthly bounds and entered the kingdom of his heavenly Father. Floyd passed quietly and peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loving wife and children. Floyd was born on January 28, 1928, in Huntington, Indiana, where he spent his childhood. At age seventeen, he joined the U.S. Navy and served honorably as an aircraft mechanic until his discharge. Floyd enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a social worker with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and after twenty years retired to begin a new career in consulting and real estate. Throughout his life, Floyd served his community by volunteering and participating in numerous civic organizations. Floyd is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Marie, his children John, Dana, Pat, Eric, Mark and Elizabeth Wilson, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service with rosary was held at Saint Steven's Catholic Church in Sun Lakes, on Saturday, December 6, 2003. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice of Arizona, at 2222 W. Northern, #A-100, Phoenix. Published in the Arizona Republic on 12/3/2003. |
