Briesch, Kathryn Marie (Kathy) Kathryn Marie Briesch (Kathy) of Sun City, AZ, passed away December 4, 2003. Kathy was born in Wayne, Nebraska, November 26, 1937. She grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska and finalized her High school in Salina, Kansas were she attended Marymount College for two years. She later finished her college education in Accounting at Akron State University in 1979. She currently was studying for Masters in Taxation. She was an enrolled agent before the IRS and a Certified Tax Specialist. She was self employed doing accounting and taxes in Ohio, Marietta, Georgia, and here in Sun City. She was skilled in sign language and provided interpretation for the hearing impaired at Church 25 years. She wrote her own book on sign language for right and left handed people and taught it for 20+ years. Over that time she taught pharmacists, doctors, nurses, firemen, police, emergency crews and private individuals to learn enough so they could communicate with the hearing impaired. She taught and trained teams to interpret the church services in parishes in Marietta GA, Glendale and Sun City, AZ. She never charged for these classes seeing this as a special ministry. She provided the class materials at her cost to her students. She also taught sign language at a Junior college as an adjunct professor for two years here in AZ. She is survived by her Husband of 47 years, Deacon Forrest, her two sons Timothy and Richard and a Daughter Christine, 13 grandchildren, her sisters Betty Wilson, Sharolyn Hohman, nieces and nephews from both sisters, and 1 grandniece. Visititation at the Menke Funeral Home in Sun City was Monday Dec. 8, 2003, followed by a short Scripture service by Deacon Steward Wood. Her Funeral Service was at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Parish, December 9, 2003, followed by a light luncheon afterwards in the Church Hall. Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name would be welcome as well. Published in the Arizona Republic on 12/7/2003. |
