Mary Lee (Guest) Osborne

Mary Lee Osborne, It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Lee Osborne in Scottsdale, AZ on October 3rd, 2001 after a brave battle with cancer. Mary Lee was born in Holbrook, AZ on January 30th, 1948 & lived there until 1958 when her parents, Dale & Mabel Guest moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico.

She graduated from Los Alamos High School where she graduated 10th in her class. Mary Lee moved to Phoenix in 1965 to attend ASU, where she eventually completed her masters degree in education. She taught social studies at Shea Middle School for 15 years. She was Teacher of the Year in 1991 & inspired many students to become the best they could be at whatever they chose. She retired early in December of 2000 to fight her on-going battle.

Mary Lee is survived by her daughter Liise Russell, her sister Mickey Guest, her parents Mabel & Dale Guest, her Aunt Betty Osborne, her granddaughter Kaylor Sterns, her dear friend Tina Corbin, & many other friends & family who loved her dearly.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name in lieu of flowers. Services were held at Newcomer Mortuary, 6812 E. Thomas Rd on Mon. Oct. 8, 2001.
