Lawrence Franklin Marek

Lawrence Franklin "Frank" Marek, 75, of Williams, died on Oct. 5, 2009. He was born in February of 1934, in Bay City, Texas, to Frank and Emma Marek. He was raised in Edna, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Texas A&I University.

He worked for the United States government, living in Albuquerque, N.M., until retirement in 1984. Upon retirement he moved to Williams. Mr. Marek was a lifelong Catholic. He loved working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed animals, mainly his dogs and cats.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; son Mark Marek; daughter Laura Boyack (Kent); sisters Georgia Housson and Barbara Muegge; brother Cisco Marek; and five grandchildren.

Holy Rosary will be recited today at 1 p.m. with Mass following at 2 p.m., all at St. Josephs Catholic Church of Williams. Burial will conclude services at the Williams Cemetery.
