Sarah Elizabeth Smith, 102, formerly of Flagstaff, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Greeley County Medical Center in Tribune, Kan. She was born Sept. 24, 1907, in Butler, Mo., the daughter of Arthur P. and May Brock Geneva.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune, Kan., and the Order of the Eastern Star in Wellington, Kan.

On May 15, 1926, she was married to Raymond Andrew "Ted" Smith at Iola, Kan. He died on Feb. 28, 1988, in Tribune.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Jerry Smith (Ellie) of Tribune; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Richard G. Smith and Donald M. Smith; one brother; and three sisters.

A memorial services was held Oct. 1 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune, with the Rev. Charles Ayers officiating. Interment is in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kan.

Sarah Elizabeth Smith, 102, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Greeley County Medical Center in Tribune.

She was born Sept. 24, 1907, in Butler, Mo., to Arthur P. and May Brock Geneva.

A homemaker and farm wife, Mrs. Smith had been a Greeley County resident since 1958, moving from Wellington, where she had resided for nearly 40 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tribune and the Order of the Eastern Star at Wellington.

On May 15, 1926, she married Raymond Andrew "Ted" Smith in Iola. He died Feb. 28, 1988, in Tribune. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard G. and Donald M. Smith; a brother; and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Smith of Tribune; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service was at First Presbyterian Church in Tribune. Inurnment was at Leoti Cemetery in Leoti.
