She is survived by one brother, Orvan White of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and one sister, Norma Fancher of Kingman, Ariz. Dorothy was born in Springfield, Mo., one of 10 children to Marion and Nancy White. At the age of six she came to Arizona, where she resided until her death. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring person with a great sense of humor to family and friends alike. One characteristic that her family attributed to her long and healthy life was her contentment with her life. Whatever the circumstances, she would always see the positive side. Her love of family was always foremost in her heart. She will be greatly missed. Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Mountain View Cemetery. Rev. David Ellis, Pastor at Prescott Community Church will officiate. The family wishes to acknowledge Lettie and Brian Reed for their kindness and love (as well as the staff) shown to our mother during her stay at their home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dorothy's name to People Who Care, P.O. Box 12977, Prescott, AZ 86304. Please visit www.ruffnerwakelin.com to sign Dorothy's guestbook.
