Herbert (Herb) Adams

Herbert "Herb" Adams, 80, of Prescott, Ariz., went home to the Lord on Sept. 26, 2009. He was born March 6, 1929, to George W. and Etta E. (Graham) Adams in Kansas City, Mo.

Herb is survived by his daughter Sherry Hoover and son-in-law Russell Hoover of Chino Valley, Ariz., brother-in-law Walter Tanchek and sister-in-law Pat Adams. He was preceded in death by his son Jay Charles Adams, both parents, and his 12 siblings.

After serving in the US Army - 82nd Airborne Division - Herb moved to Southern California, where he worked at Avon Products at the Pasadena plant until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf, and was an active member of the American Legion in Monrovia, Calif. In 1997, Herb moved to the Prescott area of Arizona.

The family wishes to thank the Heights Church for their loving support, and Kathy, Letty, Brian, Dora, and Louie of Paradise 1 Care Home of Prescott for their excellent care of Herb in the last months of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Veterans Affairs VAVS Fund - 9046.
