The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, October 01, 2009 Edna, 94, was born April 20, 1915, in Arkadelphia, Ark. She was one of 14 children born to William David and Eva Mae Lemons. Edna passed away on Sept. 28, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones in Tucson, Ariz. Edna retired in 1972 from the Veterans Administration Hospital (Fort Whipple) in Prescott, Ariz., where she was a supervisor in the food service department. However, her main joy in life was serving as a mother and wife to her family. She was a member of Willow Hills First Southern Baptist Church for over 50 years; many lifelong friendships were formed there. Edna is preceded in death by her late husband of 39 years and the father of her children, L.D. Morgan; their infant daughter, Joy Sue; Lawrence Dewayne Morgan, grandson; Brenda Lee Pauley, granddaughter; her parents; and all 13 siblings. Edna is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Robert E. Smith; her children, Dewayne (Sharlene) Morgan of Chino Valley, Ariz.; Linda (Michael) Hollabaugh of Monte Vista, Colo.; and Jo Ann (Thomas) Armour of Tucson, Ariz. Edna was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. A private memorial service for the family has been planned. Mother will be missed greatly, but we know she is in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior; she is at peace. Information provided by survivors. |
