The Big Bug News, Yavapai County, Arizona Wednesday, August 05, 2009 Gerald (Gary) Bourne, 83, long time resident of Cordes Lakes and Spring Valley, went to see the Lord, Monday, July 27, 2009. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a graduate of Iowa State University. He was a civil engineer and retired from the Arizona Dept. of Transportation. He was involved in many Sun City organizations during his retirement. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, passion for life and a good family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Esther of 30 years; sisters, Virginia (Glen), Geneva (Andy); brothers, Wayne, Alvin (Delores); brothers-in-law, William (Carolyn), Lorne, Roy (Katie); sons, David (Cindy), Steven, James (Kimiko); stepdaughter, Cindy (Steve); stepson, Bill (Pam); four granddaughters, Abby, Alyssa, Samantha, Laura; three grandsons, Tim, Nicholas, Don; and two great grandchildren, Brock and Lynzy; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his brother Richard. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at the All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church, 9502 W. Hutton Drive, Sun City, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association. Information provided by survivors. |
