| The Navajo - Hopi Observer, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, August 11, 2009 Joe Lee Benally, of Tolani Lake, died on Friday, July 24, 2009, in Flagstaff. He was 64. Benally was born on May 25, 1945 in Tolani Lake. His maternal clan is Towering House and his paternal clan is Red-Bottom People. Mr. Benally worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed his daily walks, visiting with family and friends, riding horses, carving and woodworking and cleaning up around the yard. He is survived by son Riddo Benally; daughters Margaret Chavez, Maggie Shepard and Maria Warner; father Belone Benally II; and sisters Edna Wilson and Violet Dempsey. He also had 11 grandchildren. Services were held July 31 at the Tolani Lake Community Church. Greer's Mortuary handled the arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
