Doris Harper-White, 82, of Flagstaff died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 6. She was born in Detroit on July 27, 1927.

She moved to Flagstaff from Michigan in 1968 with her husband, Clifford White, and their three children. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees at Wayne State University. She went on to teach elementary school through high school, and, after moving to Flagstaff, she also taught part-time at Northern Arizona University. She has always been very involved with theater and was the founder of community theater in Flagstaff.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.

She is survived by her two sons, Kevin White (Pam) of Glendale and Kenneth White of Flagstaff; daughter Karen McFall (Robert) of Flagstaff; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A service will be at the Federated Community Church, 400 W. Aspen Ave., Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Clifford E. and Doris S. White scholarship, fund 4267. at the NAU foundation or Hospice Compassas.
