Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Sunday, October 04, 2009 George Albert Swanson Jr., died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009. He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Aurora, Ill., to George and Donna Swanson. George was a graduate of East Aurora High School in Aurora. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He also served the Sunshine Rescue Mission in Flagstaff for 10 years. He shared the love of Jesus as a missionary for more than 30 years, traveling by RV internationally. He loved helping people from all walks of life. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jennifer, of Parks; son Jonathan (Cristina) Swanson of Parks; daughter Laura (Matthew) Vigil of Denver; two grandchildren; sister Donna (Harold) White of IL; brothers Chris (Mary Jane) Swanson of Oregon and John Swanson of Colorado; and many friends all over the country. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Flagstaff Christian Fellowship. A visitation will be held for an hour prior to services.
