Dexter Chris Yazzie

Dexter Chris Yazzie, 24, died Aug. 15, 2009. He was born Jan. 16, 1985. He was Red Running Into Water People, born for Edgewater.

In his family he was a son who always said, "Mom, you are the best." To his sister and her children he was a caregiver and a teacher. To his brothers he was a friend and someone to count on. To his sister Mckayla he was a big brother who helped her with things, listened to her and gave advice. Mr. Yazzie enjoyed hanging out, talking, playing video games, drawing and reading books of all sorts. He would read the newspaper cover to cover. He enjoyed helping his family out with sheep, cows, and fixing things around the house. His friends and family will miss him dearly and will hold him forever in their hearts.

Mr. Yazzie is survived by his mother, Mary Daw, of Cowsprings; two sisters, Lucerita and Mckayla; two brothers, Christian and Thaxter; one nephew; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father Chester Yazzie.

Services were Aug. 21 at Grace Bible Church in Red Lake. Interment was in the family plot. Pallbearers were Christain Yazzie, Thaxter Yazzie, Adrian Daw, Eric Daw, Bennett Sampson, Cheston Daw, Nolan Bedonie, Thomas Maize, Harrison Maize and Micheal Gaddy.

His family would like to thank everyone who helped with donations and support during their time of need.
