Lorna Freyer Wright, 89, formerly of Flagstaff, died Friday, July 3, 2009, in Mesa.

Mrs. Wright was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Saline, Scotland, to Walter and Janet Finlayson. She and her family moved to Chicago in 1929, where she attended grade school and high school. In 1941, she married Ernest Fred Freyer and they had two children. After the children were raised, she became a real estate salesperson. Upon her retirement in 1978, the couple moved to Flagstaff, where they lived until the death of Mr. Freyer in 1994. She then moved to Mesa, and in 2000, at 80, she met and married Charles Wright. Mrs. Wright was immediately accepted into the family of five children and several grandchildren. Because of her strong faith and giving nature, Mrs. Wright was always active with church and the Pilot Clubs of both Flagstaff and Mesa. She loved life and traveling, going to Europe several times to visit family and friends. She also enjoyed ocean cruises and going around the western United Stated in a recreational vehicle with her husband.

Mrs. Wright is survived by husband Charles; sister Betty; son Ernest (Therese); five grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ranald and Malcolm; husband Ernest of 53 years; and daughter Lonnie.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be today at 2 p.m. at Flagstaff Christian Fellowship, 123 S. Beaver St.
