Jayne (Hogg) Jones - Dominguez

Jayne Hogg Dominguez, age 85, passed away Friday, December 2, 2005. Born in Denver, Colorado, September 19, 1920, she spent her early years on the YU Ranch outside Meteetsee, Wyoming. She moved to Phoenix with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam W. HOGG, and considered Arizona her home.

She attended Phoenix College and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Elementary Education.

She raised two daughters and traveled widely as an Air Force wife.

In 1960 she returned to Phoenix and resumed her career teaching first grade at P. T. Coe Elementary School in the Isaac District until her retirement.

Through a chance meeting she became reacquainted with former Phoenix College classmate Leo Dominguez and they were married in 1975.

Together she and Leo built a second home in Flagstaff where they enjoyed cool summers with friends and family.

Jayne's was an active retirement. She lent energy and enthusiasm to volunteer work for the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary serving on their Board and managing their Christmas Angel program at Chris Town Mall for many years. She was an active member of the Church of the Beatitudes ushering for services, serving on the Board of the Beatitudes Campus of Care and working on the Age Link intergenerational childcare project from its planning stages. She was also active in the PEO sisterhood and the Phoenix College Alumni Association.

Jayne was attended in her final illness by her devoted husband Leo DOMINGUEZ and daughters Cynthia JONES LIEBI and Denise JONES.

She is also survived by grandsons Heath LIEBI and Adam LIEBI, granddaughters Tayler EMERY and Callen EMERY and great granddaughter Margaux Violet LIEBI.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beatitudes Age Link Intergenerational Childcare Center, the Beatitudes Center DOAR or the PEO Cottey College scholarship fund.

A memorial service was held at the Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Avenue.
