Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Thursday, July 23, 2009 William "Bill" Furrey, 76, formerly of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Mr. Furrey was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Phoenix. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime Arizona resident, living in Phoenix and Flagstaff and retiring to Camp Verde. Mr. Furrey is survived by his wife, Ima Gene Furrey; daughters Candy Logue and Becky Palmer; sons Kelly, Mike, Tim and Billy Furrey; brother Everett Furrey of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Jessie Furrey. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association. Norvel Owens Mortuary handled arrangements. |
