Noah Scott (Scotty) Fry

Scott (Scotty) Fry, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully on August 20, 2005. Scott was born to John and Beulah FRY on August 24, 1926 in Superior, Arizona.

He married his high school sweetheart, Frances WARE on August 19, 1950.

Scott served 2 years in the US Navy during World War II.

Completing his service he attended A.S.U. and graduated with a BA in education. Later in his career he completed his masters in educational administration. During Scott's 34 years in education he taught elementary school in the Roosevelt District and was principal of Roosevelt School, Valley View School and planning principal of J.F.K. Middle School. He worked in the Mesa School District for a brief time and served as Superintendent of the Pendergast School District for 11 years; retiring in 1986.

He was active in Arizona School Administrators and related educational endeavors. He officiated high school football for many years and was a loyal A.S.U. fan. He and Frances had season tickets since college days and seldom missed a game. He was a life-long member of the A.S.U. Alumni Assoc.

Golfing was an ongoing passion throughout his life. In his earlier years he was a tournament golfer and a frequent winner. He was an active member of the "Bandits" at Encanto Golf course for many years and a member at Silver Creek Golf Club in the white mountains. Scott was a member of Lutheran Church of Hope and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Although Scott had many friends and acquaintances, his family was his pride and joy. His family and friends will miss him remembering his constant motto "Keep smiling and strive to be happy." He teased, praised and inspired more people than anyone can ever know.

He is survived by his wife Frances, daughters: Frances Lea FRY, Marianne BUCHIK and Patricia TRAAEN; 2 grandsons, Nathan and Kevin BUCHIK; son-in-laws, Gary BUCHIK and Steve TRAAEN; all of Phx.; brother, John FRY of Vancouver, Wash., and sister, Betty BANKS of Queens, N.Y.

A memorial service was held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1124 N. 3rd St., Phx., AZ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower, Phx, AZ 85014.
