The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Az. May 31, 1940 Two Die in Auto Accident Sunday Mrs. Marguerite Irene Love Roth, 23, Kansas City, Mo., and Clyde Powell, 24, Evansville Ind., were killed in a traffic collision between a wild-cat bus and a large truck early Sunday morning, one mile south of town. Mrs. Roth’s two-year-old son Conrad, who was almost scalped, is reported to be improving today. John Selby, 23, Phoenix, said State Highway Patrolman Byron Blackburn, to have been driving the truck, escaped injury. Ed Comstock, 26, Evansville, Ind., and Clifford C. Harris, Sioux City, Ia., also passengers in the bus were injured. |
