Cora Evelyn Gildersleeve, 74, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away March 31, 2004 after a brief battle with heart disease. She was born in Yankton, South Dakota to Oliver and Ethel NELLES on July 16, 1929.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, son James Allen BUTTERWORTH; son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren Rick, Debra, Paul, Michael, and David BUTTERWORTH; son and ex-daughter-in-law and grandchildren David, Debbie, Allie, Brittney, and Matthew BUTTERWORTH; step-son and daughter-in-law Dave and Connie GILDERSLEEVE; step-daughter-in-law and granddaughter Joni and Haley GILDERSLEEVE; step-daughter Karen GILDERSLEEVE; and step-daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren Laura, Mark and Kyle FITZGERALD and Stephanie NICHOLSON and many friends.

Cora taught school for 35 years both locally in the Wilson and Madison school districts as well as in other states.

She was a Heard Museum Guild Member and volunteered her time at the Museum. She will always be loved and remembered for her kind nature, and her belief in the common good.

Services were held at First Baptist Church, 17419 N Conquistador Drive, Sun City West.
