Dr. William J. Quist, passed away early Monday morning, March 12, 2007, in his Phoenix home following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was surrounded bedside in love and prayer by his entire family as he entered the Kingdom of Heaven.

A native of Phoenix, he was born August 22, 1931 to Mary Louise BOHACH QUIST and Homer QUIST.

He was a graduate of Glendale High School, Arizona State University and Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine; and was very proud of his 8 years of service as a commissioned officer in the Arizona Army National Guard. Dr. Quist practiced veterinary medicine for 46 years, during which time he founded Lincoln View Animal Hospital, and served as the Vice President of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association.

A devoted man to both his family and career, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by, his beloved wife of 53 years, Shirley; sons, Bill, Jr. (Sue) , and John; grandchildren, Celena, Jeannie, Lauren, Nicholas and Kailey; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott and brother, Francis.

We will always remember his love for favorite past times including fishing the waters of Arizona, Colorado and Utah with his sons; enjoying the serenity of his Christopher Creek cabin with his wife and many companion animals, especially his beloved labrador, Kisha and was an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns and ASU sports.

Memorial Services were held at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix.
