The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona October 13, 2009 William Eugene Gipson, 63, died quietly Oct. 3, 2009, at his home in Mesa surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 30, 1946, in Canyon, Texas. William served his country in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer, hull technician and instructor and retired after 27 years of service in November 2008. He served for 14 years as Girl Scout camp manager for Arizona Cactus Pine Girl Scout Council. He loved riding motorcycles, and along with his son, built and rode trikes. But most of all William loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Denise "Morris" Gipson of Mesa; son James Eugene Gipson of Prescott Valley; mother Iris Jane Swick of Mesa; brothers, Gregory D. Gipson of Prescott and Donald J. Gipson of Mesa; sister Janet S. Flynt of Oregon; stepsisters Myra Seavy and Louise McDonald, both of Oregon; and three grandchildren, Tiffany, Cherish and Skyler. William was preceded in death by his father, William E. Gipson; stepfather George F. Swick; son Michael E. Gipson; and brother Richard L. Gipson. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, in St. Johns at the Downtown Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
