The Daily Courier, Prescott, AZ Sunday, November 06, 2005 Kevin V. Rainey Kevin V. Rainey, age 48, of Chino Valley, passed away on Nov. 1, 2005. He was born in Omaha, Neb., and lived in California before moving to Arizona earlier this year. Kevin served his country in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge. Recently, he has served the past 12 years as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Ventura County, Calif. He worked with the Drunk Driving Program, Colston Youth Center, Juvenile Restitution Project, Juvenile Hall, Oxnard Center, Pacific View High School, Puente High School and Adolescent Services. Kevin was instrumental in the creation of Drug Court. He was active in the 12-step community and was often a guest speaker in the local elementary and middle schools. Kevin brought truth, passion and a commitment to make a difference in the world and people's lives. Kevin was a loving husband and father. He loved being involved in the lives of his children and was devoted to his family. He was also devoted to the children and students that he counseled. Kevin loved playing softball and was the king of the grill. He is survived by his wife, Holly Rainey; his children, Michael Johnson, Todd Williams, Kevin 'Blue' Williams all of Chicago, Ill.; Nathan Hart, Kheri Rainey, Kiyahna Rainey and Kashira Rainey all of Chino Valley. He is also survived by his mother, Mary E. Rainey of Dayton, Ohio; as well as his brother, Kenton Rainey and his wife, Annette of Oxnard, Calif.; his sister, Beverly Sanchez of Atlanta, Ga.; his brother, Ron Loman of Oakland, Calif.; his brother, Jeffrey Loman of Oakland, Calif.; and his sister, Shelley Hudson of Philadelphia, Pa. He is also survived by aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie C. Loman. Contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Grace Baptist Church in Chino Valley. A graveside service will be held at the National Cemetery in Cave Creek, on Monday, Nov. 7.
