The San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego, Calif. August 8, 2004 PATRICIA C. JAMESON - You may have seen her as she strolled Sunset Cliffs, made small talk with the locals. Or maybe you've spotted her with a big picture of a seagull dropping one into a cup of starbucks coffee in the back window of her and her late husbands V.S. Needless to say she was very active in keeping Ocean Beach a locally run, clean, nice place to live. She died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, in San Diego, Calif., at the age of 69, the cause of death was brain cancer. Mrs. Jameson was born May 16, 1935, to Ada and Alex Lyons in Clarkdale, Ariz. She graduated from high school in Ajo, Arizona, where she met Russell "Rusty" Jameson. She attended two years at Whittier College. The couple married at the LIttle White Chapel in Las Vegas and made a 78 recording of their vows. They moved to San Diego, where she worked as a secretary and he drove a cement truck. In 1976 the Jamesons took a risk and became entrepreneurs, moving to Durango, where they opened a Hallmark store called Kelley's Kards. The original store was in the main mall, and the couple also opened a second store in the Durango mall. The couple returned to San Diego (Ocean Beach) in 1995. Mrs. Jameson enjoyed walking, hiking, travel and the outdoors in general. She was particularly fond of the river, and the family went on lots of river trips. She was preceded in death by her husband January 30, 2004. Mrs. Jameson is survived by her son, Bret Jameson of Durango , Colo., daughter Kelley Jameson of Durango, Colo., and grandchildren Tyler and Larking Jameson of Durango, Colo., and Chandra Jameson of San Diego. Cremation has occurred and there will be no services. Her ashes will be scattered in the ocean because that was one of her favorite places. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com |
