The Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona July 7, 2005 Mabyn Delores Peart, 85, died Sunday, July 2, 2005. Mrs. Peart was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Humbolt to William "Parker" Wright and Edna Alice Rhodes Wright. She grew up in the Verde Valley and graduated from Clarkdale High School in 1937. Mrs. Peart graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1941 and worked as a private duty nurse, floor nurse and as a psychiatric nurse at the Arizona State Hospital. She began working at Winslow Memorial Hospital in 1961, beginning as a part-time nurse, then a charge nurse. As hospital administrator until 1976, she oversaw the building of the new hospital. Always a stickler for details, she made sure every phase of the construction was done to her satisfaction. Mrs. Peart helped countless people through her work at the hospital. She was loved and respected by staff and patients alike. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Mrs. Peart is survived by son Michael William (Irene) Peart of Paradise Valley; daughter Shawn (Ramon) Ramirez of Glendale; a granddaughter, grandson and great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Lester Peart and son Norman Peart. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Greer's Mortuary Chapel. |
