The Gazette, Colorado Springs, Colorado September 20, 1997 William Blaine (Bill) Kratzer, 72, a former longtime Colorado Springs resident, died Sept. 14, 1997, in Clarkdale, Ariz. He was an artist who had one-man shows in Canon City and at the Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs. Private services have been held in Clarkdale. A reception will be held at a later date in Colorado Springs. Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Minqus Ave., Cottonwood, Ariz. 86326, handled arrangements. Mr. Kratzer was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Colorado Springs to Miles Blaine and Minnie (Hagwall) Kratzer. He was married Sept. 25, 1957, in Aspen to Billy (Millar) Pyle, who lives in Clarkdale. He also is survived by a daughter, Karla Davis of Clarkdale; a brother, Malcolm of Clarkdale; a sister, Georgie Allen of Colorado Springs; and two grandchildren. Mr. Kratzer enjoyed sketching the southwest landscapes and architecture; and collecting kachinas, fetishes and Navajo rugs. Bill led a quiet, serene life and will be missed. He had lived in Colorado Springs from 1924 to 1981, also living in Montezuma Valley and in Arizona. |
