The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, May 3, 2006 LaVania Ell Ward died tragically on Thursday, April 27, 2006, in Alvarado, Texas. She was born in Loving, New Mexico on Dec. 23, 1954, to Pat and LaVerne Patterson. LaVania graduated from Prescott High School in 1972 where she was active in FFA. She went on to nursing school and became an R.N. For 12 years, LaVania was employed for the Bureau of Prisoners in Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Pat Patterson; nephew T.J. Petty; grandparents, Bonnie and Oilie Yarbro and Walter and Kate Patterson. Mrs. Ward is survived by her mother, LaVerne Patterson of Chino Valley, Ariz.; sons, Choice Ward and Kyle (Bobby) Ward, all of Seymour; brother, Greg (Linda) Patterson; sister; Derina (Tom) Petty, all of Chino Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday May 8, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave, Prescott, Arizona.
