Norman Alan Butrymowicz, born Jan. 5, 1956, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009.

The heavens brightened and our world went black when the Lord took our son, but we knew after the long fight of battling pancreatic cancer, he was no longer in pain and was running free again. From the time he was born, he had many friends. He was always active whether riding his motorcycle, racing his bronco (known as Stormin' Norman), camping out, hiking, rapelling, kayaking - always busy with a new sport.

He graduated from MCUHS in 1974 and soon after joined the Marines. After serving his hitch, he worked for General Cable, but after an injury there, he went back to school and graduated second in his class from Cochise College as an aircraft mechanic. He then went to work for America West and enjoyed many trips around the country while working for them. He moved to Washington State and went to work for Goodrich Aviation for 12 years.

He leaves behind the two people he cherished the most, his children, Leah and Dallas. He is the son of Don and Leanna; the brother of Michael, Kathy, Stephen (whom he will be joining), Donald and Kim. After all these years, he was still best buddies with his childhood friends, Loren Christensen and Bob and Debbie Briel.

Norman was a man of high moral character. He cared deeply for those around him; he will be missed dearly.

"I have only slipped away into the next room, one brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we will meet again."
