The Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, Arizona Sunday, August 16, 2009 Mary Louise 'Potsy' Gray, born Jan. 7, 1928, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. She was born to Carl and Viola Schnellbacher in Quincy, Ill., where Mary grew up, went to Notre Dame High School and married Gilbert Gray in 1947. She was preceded in death by Gilbert, and her sister, Jeanette Dietrich. She leaves behind a brother, James Schnellbacher of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; two sons, Kent W. Gray and Bradley J. Gray; and four grandchildren, Kevin Chris, Derek Gray, Chelsey Gray and Ryan Narmore. Mary was an avid outdoors lover and enjoyed river-rafting, hiking and any type of off-road adventure. She was fond of the desert, collecting rocks and enjoyed learning about the Southwestern Indian culture. She spent the last 15 years in Kingman. Always full of joy, she was known for her laughter and zeal for celebrating the moment. She was most proud of the "Meet Your Neighbor" article in the Kingman Daily Miner featuring a photo of her atop Mount Whitney. A celebration of her life is planned at the Hualapai Mountain Lodge in Kingman. |
