Frederick E. Lorette

Frederick E. Lorette died on May 17, 2006 at The Prescott V.A. Hospital. Fred was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Peterboro, N.H., to James and Marion Lorette. He was one of 11 children.

At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Most of his three years and three month in the navy was spent on the Battleship USS Texas. Fred was awarded The Good Conduct medal, World War II Victory Metal, European African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon (4 stars), Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon (2 stars), Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon. After an Honorable Discharge from the service, he returned to New Hampshire where he met and married Shirley Jones Lorette, his wife for 57 years.

Fred and Shirley had two daughters, Randy Barbara Fuller and Holly Kriss Lorette.

They owned and operated the Village Store for seven years before moving to Mayer, Ariz. in 1963. They bought a small business in Mayer and Fred was a plumber in Prescott. When they sold the business in 1973, Fred devoted full time to his love of mining and prospecting. Fred retired from mining for health reasons

He left a large footprint on the many hills of Arizona.

Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Randy Fuller of Chino Valley, Ariz. and Holly Lorette of Dewey, Ariz.; three brothers, Robert Lorette of Wilton, N.H., Ralph and (Adrienne) Lorette of Mont Vernon, N.H., Joseph & (Patricia) Lorette of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; five sisters, Eva Cheever of Milford, N.H., Elinore and (Norman) Batchelder of Palm Coast, Fla., Joan Blanchard of Palm Coast, Fla., Dorothy Brown of Mont Vernon, N.H. and Phyllis O'Donnell of Westerly, R.I.; five grandsons, Todd, Chad, Jamie, Ryan and Eric; and eight great-grandchildren, Cody, Amy, J.J., Hallie, Ashlee, Austin, Dawson and Garett.

Graveside Services will be held at the Mayer Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, followed by Memorial Service at Mayer Community Church at 2 p.m. Potluck follows.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Family Care, 100 East Sheldon, Suite 100, Prescott, Arizona.
