Linda Lee (Barkow) Richardson

Linda Lee Richardson, the daughter of Fred and Betty (Cordry) Barkow, was born March 8, 1945, in Oceanside, Calif. She departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, Neb., at the age of 62 years after a courageous battle with cancer.

When she was growing up her family lived in many different states. Her father worked as a salesman for B.F. Goodrich and his job moved them around.

Linda graduated from Dominican High School in White Fish Bay, Wis. She then attended The University of Wisconsin in Madison for one year.

Linda worked in the billing department of a trucking company in Arizona. It was working there that she met her husband Marlin Les Richardson. They were married Sept. 5, 1986, in Phoenix, Ariz.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Les of Hebron, Neb.; one brother, Bill Barkow and wife Judy of Arvada, Colo.; two nephews, William Barkow II of Denver, Colo., and Andrew Barkow of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of friends.

Following Linda’s wishes, she was cremated. There was no visitation service. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday Jan. 4, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, Neb. Rosary service will be Thursday Jan. 3, 2008, 7 p.m. at Hebron Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Father Rudy Oborny, organist Brenda Striggow, acolyte Leland Weber, cantor Carlece Wiedel, lector Ken Else, with congregational hymns “Here I Am Lord,” “You Are Mine” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Inurnment will be at a later date in East Liberty Cemetery, Malvern, Iowa. Memorial in care of the family. Hebron Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
