George B. Sedillo
(April 29, 1930 - October 19, 2009)

George B. Sedillo passed away peacefully October 19, 2009, with his family by his side.

He was born April 29, 1930 in McNary, Arizona, the oldest of nine children. After Southwest Forest Mill burned down, he moved from McNary to St. Johns, AZ. George spent one year in Albuquerque, NM then returned to St. Johns, after which he moved to Flagstaff in 1948, graduation from Flagstaff High School in 1950.

Drafted right after graduation, Mr. Sedillo spent 2 years in the Army, 18 of those months in Korea. After his service he returned to Flagstaff in 1952 and married Armida Sanchez on July 5th of that year.

Mr. Sedillo worked for Flagstaff Dodge for 25 years as a body shop manager. In 1982 he started Sedillo’s Body Shop in partnership with his son George Jr. He was appointed to the Coconino County Board of Supervisors on November 5, 1989 and served for three years.

Mr. Sedillo is survived by his wife, Armida Sedillo, his son George Jr. (Susan) Sedillo, his daughter Barbara Sedillo, and his son Ruben (Connie) Sedillo all of Flagstaff, and by 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will take place Friday, October 23, 2009 at 9:30 am followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am, both at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Flagstaff.

George G. Sedillo, 79, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, with his family by his side. Mr. Sedillo was born April 29, 1930, in McNary, the oldest of nine children.

After Southwest Forest Mill burned down, he moved from McNary to St. Johns. Mr. Sedillo spent one year in Albuquerque, N.M., then returned to St. Johns, after which he moved to Flagstaff in 1948, graduating from Flagstaff High School in 1950. Drafted right after graduation, Mr. Sedillo spent two years in the U.S. Army, 18 of those months in Korea. After his service, he returned to Flagstaff in 1952 and married Armida Sanchez on July 5.
