Norvel Owens Mortuary Flagstaff, Arizona Richard "Chama" Romero (January 7, 1939 - October 17, 2009) Richard "Chama" Romero, 70, of Winslow, Arizona went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Richard was born in Chama, New Mexico on January 7, 1939. In 1957, he moved to Winslow where he worked for the City of Winslow and then, for Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years. He also worked at Boyd’s Furniture for many years. He is survived by his wife, Susie (Winslow, AZ), his mother, Delfina Foster (Chama, NM), sisters and husbands, Eloyda and Steve Brooks (La Palma, CA), Lydia and Jim Shaw (Chama, NM), his children, Tommy Romero (Phoenix, AZ), Debra and John Egurrola (Phoenix, AZ), Sandra and Ernesto Romero (Phoenix, AZ), Dedrick Romero (Winslow, AZ), Tony and Sandy Poolheco (Flagstaff, AZ), Bonnie Poolheco (Albuquerque, NM), 21 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Richard has joined his dad, Max Romero (Santa Fe, NM), brother, Fidel Romero (Henderson, NV), grandson, Bevin Romero (Phoenix, AZ), and daughter, Christine Poolheco (Albuquerque, NM), who also went home to be with the Lord. He will always be remembered for his love of music. Richard loved playing the piano, guitar, and accordion. He played for many weddings, funerals, revivals, and was the piano player at his church for many years. He loved playing music and singing for the Lord. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for all the support they have received from their many friends who have put their love into action. There are too many to name, but you know who you are. May the Lord bless each and every one of you. Services and burial will be taking place in his hometown, Chama, NM on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. |
