Norvel Owens Mortuary Flagstaff, Arizona Darryl Dean Johnson (May 20, 1962 - May 3, 2008) Darryl D. Johnson, 45, passed away May 3, 2008 at the Olivia White Hospice Home. He was born May 20, 1962, in Pueblo, Colorado. Darryl is survived by his wife Marian Velasquez Johnson, his four legged kids, Pennie and Joey all of Flagstaff, parents; Dee (John) Glusick, Byron (Penny) Johnson, mother in-law, Frances Velasquez, grandparents, Howard (Vera) Young and Leona Johnson, brothers and sisters Mary Louise Romero, Richard (Cyndy) Velasquez, Lorraine (Joe) Fitzgerald, Phyllis (Mark) Tafoya, Peter (Lisa) Wilbur Dan (Liz) Cookro, step-brothers and sister; Vernon Glusick, Mickey Glusick, Robert Glusick and Valerie (Larry) Strubel. Darryl is also survived by his Italian family, an Aunt Sylvia Haun, uncles; Asher Haun and John Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gabriel Velasquez, and his grandparents Arthur “Tiny” Johnson, and Mick & Iola Kochevar. Darryl was active in Life teen both in Phoenix and Flagstaff. He was a member of the Route 66 Car Club of Flagstaff and had worked as the Information Systems Director for Flagstaff Medical Center. His family wishes to extend a special thank you to Melissa Malone and the staff at the Olivia White Hospice Home. In lieu of flowers and meals the family has set up a memorial fund in Darryl’s name at any Wells Fargo Branch. Donations will be set a side for the comfort of the patients at Olivia White Hospice, Northland Hospice and Barrow Neurological Institute. A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. A Rosary will held Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30pm with a Memorial Mass to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. |
