Gertrude (Trudy) Kay White, 58, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away in her home on Oct. 14, 2009, after a brief but heroic battle with cancer.

Trudy was born in Visalia, Calif., on March 27, 1951, to Charlotte and Gorman Brown. Although she had many unfinished tasks, Trudy had many accomplishments to be proud of. Trudy spent many years as a housewife before deciding to go back to school. After five hardworking years, in 1992 she received her A.A. degree in business. Trudy later returned to the workforce for nine years until her voluntary retirement in 2004. In 2005, Trudy and her husband moved into their dream home built in Prescott Valley.

Trudy had a passion for life and loved her family dearly. Always being a helping hand or shoulder to cry on when needed, she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Trudy is survived by her husband Thomas White of 24 years; son David White; daughter Nicole White; sister Beverly Kessler; brother Dennis Brown; as well as two nieces and one great-niece and -nephew. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents Charlotte and Gorman Brown.

A celebration of Trudy's life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in her home.
