Mettee, 86, of Prescott, Ariz., born Sept. 8, 1923, in Clemenseau, Ariz., passed away Oct. 26, 2009, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prescott. Sunrise Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 10, 2009 Ysaura Natividad Mettee, 86, a longtime registered nurse and devout Catholic, died Oct. 26, 2009, at her daughter's residence in Prescott Valley, Ariz., from complications of major surgery. She lived on Butte Canyon Drive in Prescott. She was the wife of Andrew H. Mettee, who resides in a California veterans home. Born in Clemenseau, Ariz., she was raised in Superior, Ariz., and worked in many hospitals in Arizona, Nevada and West Virginia, including the Pioneer Home and V.A. Hospital in Prescott. She received her R.N. from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Phoenix. Ysaura was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Prescott. One of seven children, she was the mother of six: George A. and Michael L. of California, and Thomas J., Mary E., Ellen I., and Andrew H. of Arizona, all survivors. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, her brother Fernando Cordova of Superior and her two sisters, Ernestina Whitlow and Ruby Zavala of Mesa. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all. A memorial service was on Oct. 31, 2009. |
