The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, October 27, 2009 10/19/1923 - 10/2/2009 Jack J. Greenley passed away on Oct. 2, 2009, at his home with his daughters at his side. Jack was the second-youngest of seven children, born on Oct. 19, 1923, to Jesse and Daisy Greenley of Waterloo, Iowa. He attended and received degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and from the University of Iowa. He married fellow graduate student and the love of his life, Ethel Johnson from St. James, Minn., on June 1, 1951. Jack and Ethel have three daughters, Jennifer Ann Downing of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Rebecca Lynn Greenley of Godfrey, Ill., and Susan Greenley of Ft. Collins, Colo.; two grandchildren, Travis Downing of Swedesboro, N.J., and Blake Downing of Voorhees, N.J.; and two great-granddaughters, Taylor Ann Downing and Kylie Huntley. Jack is survived by his three daughters; his sons-in-law, Brian Downing and Chris Ida; his granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Downing; and his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Jack engaged in the practice of psychotherapy in Waterloo, Iowa, and in Prescott, Ariz., since 1982. Jack was a loving husband and father and a dedicated professional. His daughters would like people to know how fortunate they feel to have had Jack as their father. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to Beverly Farm Foundation, Attn: Resource Development, 6301 Humbert Road, Godfrey, IL 62035.
