William M. (Bill) Richards

William M. “Bill” Richards was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, Wash., to Maurice and Elaine Richards.

He attended schools at Burlington, Wash., where he enjoyed playing many sports. Bill married Geraldine Fox Feb. 24, 1956 in Clear Lake, Wash. He was employed 25 years with the Washington State Patrol retiring in 1992.

Bill and Gerry came to Arizona 12 years ago settling in Congress. He is a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Geraldine “Gerry” Richards of Congress; son Kenneth Richards (Sue) of Perth, Australia; daughter Teresa Macke (Steve) of Yakima, Wash.; sisters Joan Sickler (George) of Wisconsin, and Roberta Symonds (Duane) of Washington; brothers Jack Richards of California, Dick Richards (Lee) of Minnesota, John Richards (Colleen) of Washington, and David Richards (Ida) of Washington; and grandson Derek Wilks. He was preceded in death by his sister Anita.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday (Oct. 31) at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg. The family suggests memorial contributions in Bill’s name be made to Child Evanglelism or to Gideon Bibles.
