A memorial celebration for Lorrin Paul Stetson, 52, who died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at home surrounded by the love of his family and friends, will be today at 3 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, in the meeting hall, 2257 E. Cedar Ave.

A potluck meal to follow -- Southwestern cuisine. Guests are invited to bring a dish to share and asked to celebrate Mr. Stetson's life by wearing bright colors.

Donations can be given to the Cameron and Abigail Stetson Scholarship fund at Arizona State Savings and Credit Union. For more information, call Char at (928) 451-5078 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Lorrin Paul Stetson
(September 18, 1957 - October 22, 2009)

Lorrin Paul Stetson, 52, died at home on flagstaff, AZ on October 22, 2009, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Lorrin was a successful artist and sculptor for 15 years. Lorrin used the business name “Ancient Images”. He was inspired by the petroglyph’s of ancient people. He worked in stone, copper and rusted steel and sold his work at art shows and galleries all over the Southwest.

Lorrin was born on September 18, 1957 in Rhodesia, (new Zimbabwe), Southern Africa, where his parents were medical missionaries. As a child Lorrin attended boarding school in Salisbury, Rhodesia until 1967 when he transferred to Kildonan School in Pennsylvania.

As a teenager Lorrin and his family relocated to Flagstaff where he graduated from Coconino High School in 1976. He attended Northern Arizona University for 2 years and he completed a degree in computer aided drafting from Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1990.

In 1982, Lorrin married his high school sweetheart Patricia Rade. They lived in the Hawaiian Islands for 3 ½ years, before returning to Flagstaff where Lorrin Began his career as an artist and they started their family.

Lorrin is survived by his wife Patricia, Children Cameron (13), and Abigail (10), parents Kirk and Bunni Stetson, sister, Charlinda Stewart and brother Eric Stetson.

A memorial celebration of Lorrin’s life will be held at 3pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church, in the meeting hall, 2257 E. Cedar Ave., in East Flagstaff. A potluck meal to follow, Southwestern Cuisine. Please bring a dish to share.
