West Valley View, November 3, 2004 Herbert Gilbert Samuel Penney, 78, of Tolleson died Oct. 29, 2004. Mr. Penney was born on May 22, 1926, in Blow-Me-Down, Newfoundland, Canada. An ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, the Rev. Penney served his country during the Korean War and received several honors, including a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He later worked as an operations engineer, and retired from Local 428 after nearly 30 years. The Rev. Penney is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene; one daughter, Jacqueline Irene Lane; two sons, Stephen and Matthew Penney; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service was held Nov. 3 at Tolleson Assembly of God Church. Interment was at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Lundberg Mortuary White Rose Chapel in Glendale made the arrangements See Also: Find A Grave |
