Saw Famous Feud -

Mr. SHOULTES had a colorful, interesting life. As a child, he hid under a stove in the home of his sister while the famous Tewsberry Feud raged just outside; saw his sister's husband fall in that battle and witnessed the brief truce between both parties while his sister was permitted to go out and bring her husband's body into the house.

When a young man in his early twenties, he drove a 20 mule team hauling borax across Death Valley, Calif. He spent many years as a cattleman and miner. He had been retired for a number of years.
Surviving are the wife, Mary a daughter, Mrs. Alden C. JAMES, of Yreka, Calif., and a son, George SHOULTES of Los Angeles, also five grandchildren.

Burial took place in the Wickenburg cemetery.
