Railroad Man Dies Near Bouse Monday

A Phoenix railroad man, Phillip A. Pickens, died early Monday morning on a Santa Fe train somewhere between Parker and Bouse. His body was brought to Wickenburg and was taken from here to Phoenix for burial.

Pickens, 45, was riding as fireman, although he had recently been promoted to engineer. He complained of feeling ill at Parker and rested there about three hours before starting the return trip to Phoenix at 11 p.m. Sunday. He was resting on the train, and was thought to be asleep. Attempts to awake him failed when the train reached Bouse at 1:05 a.m. Sunday. He apparently had died somewhere between there and Parker.
