Frances (Altwies) Rabogliatti

Mrs. Frances Altwies Rabogliatti, 94, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009. She was born on Oct. 24, 1914 in San Diego, Calif. to parents Albert A. Altwies and his wife, Mary R. Rowe.

Frances lived most of her life in Globe, Ariz. At Globe's Holy Angels Church, she married her husband, Faust Rabogliatti, and in the years after raised three children. After being widowed in 1972, she moved to Scottsdale.

A talented artist in both oils and watercolors, she became an active participant in the Scottsdale Artists League. She also sang in her church choir and was once honored to sing for the Pope when he visited Phoenix. She loved traveling, reading, art, music of all kinds, pets and first and foremost, babies. She was always a mom, not just to her own children, but to any and all children who came her way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her four sisters, Adele Bulechek, Maxine Cox, Joie Nelson and Claire Contreras.

She is survived by her three children, Mary Ellen Daugherty, of Santa Maria, Calif., John Rabogliatti, of Globe, Ariz., and Paul Rabogliatti, of Odessa, Texas; sister-in-law, Lillian Rabogliatti; three nieces and seven nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Scottsdale Heritage Court, 3339 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at Globe Cemetery in Globe, Ariz.

Lamont Mortuary of Globe assisted the family.
