The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 10/31/2008 Elgina Polk, 40, of Whiteriver, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born October 7, 1968, at Whiteriver the daughter of Elgin & Dorothy (Mankel) Polk. She was raised and attended school in Whiteriver. She was united in marriage fifteen years ago to Jerry Alchesay. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing, singing, cooking and her children. She was a member of the Seven Mile Miracle Church. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Alchesay of Whiteriver; four daughters, Danielle Polk, Roshanda Polk, Shanique Preston and Jerricka Alchesay all of Whiteriver; a son, Jaren Alchesay of Whiteriver; a niece and nephew which she raised, Marchayeah Way and Johnson Mull, Jr. both of Whiteriver; two sisters, Arlene Beach of Pinetop and Sharon Polk of Whiteriver; three brothers, Anthony Leslie, Eugene Leslie and Darrin Polk all of Whiteriver; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Wake Service will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 29th at 1608 Paint Avenue in Whiteriver. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 30th at the Seven Mile Miracle Church with Pastor Timmy Hinton officiating. Burial will follow at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
