Vera Porter Bigler
(April 29, 1923 - October 20, 2009)

Vera Porter Bigler, age 86, of Heber, AZ, passed away at her home on October 20, 2009.

Vera was born April 29, 1923 in Heber, AZ to parents James and Alice Porter. In 1940 she married Laureld Arthur Bigler in the Mesa L.D.S. Temple. During her life, she lived in both Heber and Snowflake. She loved playing the piano and organ, writing music, teaching music, quilting, crocheting, sewing and many outdoor activities. She was a super mom at home.

Vera was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the church in many capacities, including President of the Relief Society and Primary organizations. Also being called to play the organ in the Snowflake L.D.S. temple had great meaning and was very special to her.

Vera is survived by sons Laureld C. (Penny) Bigler of Idaho, Arthur L. (Jill) Bigler of Taylor, AZ, William L. (Deborah Sue) Bigler of Gilbert, AZ, Keith Earl (Donna Lanette) Bigler of Heber, AZ; daughters Laura B. (W. Jess) Clifford of Colorado, Elise B. (Bobbie Dean Jr.) Albritton of Tucson, AZ, and Marvel B. Dorman of Gilbert, AZ. Vera also has 49 Grandchildren, 119 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

Vera also is survived by brother James Wayne Porter, of Heber, AZ; and by sisters Rose Reidhead, of Utah, Mable Despain, of Heber, AZ and by Leslie Whitmer, of Utah.

Vera is preceded in death by son Sterling Greg Bigler on Nov. 30, 1995 and by sons Derric Nolan Bigler on Aug. 28, 1951 and Eric Lee Bigler on Sept. 4, 1951.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 23rd, from 5:30-7:30 PM at Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Rd. Taylor , AZ and also on Saturday Oct. 24th from 9:30-10:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Heber Chapel.

The Funeral will follow at 11:00 AM Saturday, Oct. 24th at the Heber, Latter-day Saints Chapel.

Interment will be at the Heber Cemetery.
