| Viola R. Torrez, 87, was called home to be with our Lord on December 13, 2000 with her loving family at her side. Born to Manuel & Aurelia Romero on May 11, 1913 in Roswell, New Mexico. Mrs. Torrez was preceded in death by her son, Manuel R. Torrez, killed in Vietnam. Survived by one sister, Martha Munquia; five sons: Herman R., Ramon R., Felix R., Jose R. and Richard R.; eight daughters: Clara Casas, Cecilia Jimenez, Esther Sayre, Aurelia Romero, Ophelia Torres, Rebecca Torres, Alice Garcia and Lucy Acosta; and their spouses; 55 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Viola will be greatly missed by all her survivors. She was a loving mother and grandmother ("Nana"). We will love and miss her forever. Visitation Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Mortensen Kings Funeral Center, 2225 N. 16th St., Phoenix, AZ 85006. Services were Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N. 24th St., Phoenix.
