White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 7/14/2009 Thomas Daniel "Dan" Parsons, 74, died June 29, 2009, in Lakeside. He was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Flagstaff. He served in the Army from 1958-1960, stationed at Fort Sil, Okla. He was a heavy equipment operation for Operating Engineers No. 428 and retired in 1990. As a construction worker he built many roads across the state. "Dig and dump, grandpa!" "Grandpa" loved the early morning hours and listening to the doves. Most of all he enjoyed whittling toys for his grandkids. He enjoyed guns, books, woodcutting, camping and his dogs Chamba and Gypsy. He loved hiking and was proud he walked the Grand Canyon. Dan grew up in Phoenix, raised his family in Camp Verde before retiring to Lakeside. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Fae Parsons; son Clint (Tammie) Parsons of Eagar; daughters Shannon (Damian) Kirwan of Tempe, Jenni (Dave) Stewart of Eagar and Bonni (Kalon) Langston of Cedar City, Utah; 16 grandchildren, Nathan Parsons, Corie (Ryan) Adams, Tyrelle (Cody) Townsend, Blake Parsons, Dustin Stewart, Chelsie Stewart, Grant Daniel Kirwan, Gordon Kirwan, Garrett Kirwan, Kullen Langston, Jessica Langston, Sadie Langston, Riley Daniel Langston and Litti Langston; and one great-grandchild Tatum Townsend.
