Amelia (Molly) Duron Zepeda, 90, passed away in Phoenix on Tuesday, September 11. She was born in Florence November 9, 1916 to Ramon and Refugia Duron and raised by special stepmother, Theresa Duron while growing up in Jerome. After her high school graduation she worked for the Governors office in Florence, where she met her husband, Lamberto C. Zepeda. After they wed in 1936, they made their home in Superior, where they raised 3 children. Mrs. Zepeda was a homemaker who had enjoyed participating in the Mexicanitas (Ladies) Club, and as a 4-H Club leader taught an innumerable amount of young ladies the art of sewing and cooking. She enjoyed teaching Catechism at St. Francis Church and happily gave her time tutoring English to Spanish speaking women. Molly was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lamberto (Chapo), daughter, Carmen Gress, and great-granddaughter, Erica. The survivors include one son and one daughter, Raymond Zepeda of Los Angeles, California, and Arlene Zepeda de Walker (Jack) of Kalispell, Montana. There are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, September 21, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Superior, AZ. Visitation 8:30-9am, Rosary 9:00am, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00am, celebrated by Fr. Francis Iber. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
